SOLUTION:
The VPCCW21FX is only supported by
Sony for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (its original operating system) and XP.
However you may find that many of the software/drivers listed on the support
site may work fine on your system (try the XP version if the 7 version doesn't
work as it will be 32 bit).
Any of the other drivers may be found on the
individual sites of the device's manufacturer (NVidia, Marvell), but again,
these will not be supported by Sony.
