QUESTION:
I was
looking into upgrading my laptop but as you know, most laptops aren't up gradable so i looked into my F series Sony VAIO (VPCF23JFX) and i am
wondering if it is up gradable as it seems to be under performing because i
ordered the battlefield 3 bundle and it can barely run low graphical settings.
SOLUTION:
Your
VPCF23JFX has External graphics. This means the graphics are not part of the
CPU but on its own GPU chip directly on the Main board.
Unlike CPU Chips GPU chips are Surface mount soldered directly onto the board, and not in a removable ZIF Socket. This is true for almost all Laptops.

Two
things you can do are, ensure you have the latest graphics driver installed:
And
second, max out your memory. if your unit does not have 8GB of memory it can be
upgraded to 8GB with 2x 4GB/DDR3/1333/SO-DIMM Modules by removing any 2GB
modules. if you have 8GB already you have the max RAM installed
