QUESTION:
I have a five year old Sony Vaio
laptop (model PCG-7F1L) and have had a few viruses on it. It is so seriously
compromised now that I'd like to restore the whole system, but I don't have any
restore disks and the system cannot even find the restore drive so I can't seem
to make new restore disks any longer.
Is it possible to download the OEM
version of Windows XP Home Edition for this model Sony Vaio? The Product Key is
still on the bottom of the laptop.
SOLUTION:
The product key on the bottom of the
unit would not work on OEM version of Windows XP or any other OS. You can
contact our Sony DAPC or Sony parts website for recovery disks.
