QUESTION:
Hi, I have a Sony VAIO vpcsb15gb/b and I upgraded
(clean install) from windows 7 (x64) to windows 8 (x64).
I found some drivers for my vaio model with windows 8 but I noticed that most
of them are update only...
I'm having problems with video card drivers; I can't switch between stamina and
speed mode (intel graphics or AMD radeon 6470M).
Another problem is that, most of FN Keys aren't supported anymore.
So I have to install Windows 7 x64 drivers before install Windows 8 x64
drivers?
An extra problem is that Windows 8 x64 is saying that my battery isn't
supported in my notebook. Problem accused by Sony driver ISB utility. Only when
I finish its process, I can use my pc.
SOLUTION:
Please follow the clean installation instructions
for the Windows 8 Operating System and install all the drivers and updates in a
specific order to troubleshoot the performance mode and battery issues
mentioned here:
I’ve provided the steps below to troubleshoot the
battery issue:
First, remove the battery and connect the AC adapter
then, type msconfig in the search charms and press the Enter key to access the
System Configuration window. Under the Startup tab uncheck the box next to the
ISB Utility, click on OK button and click on Restart. Then, turn OFF the
computer, insert the battery and turn it ON.
