Some VPCSE Windows 8 drivers appear to be missing

QUESTION:

My VAIO, model VPCSE16FX, is supported by Sony to upgrade to Windows 8. However, some Windows 8 drivers appear to be missing:

1. The Windows 7 video drivers were a combination of AMD & Intel drivers whereas the only Windows 8 video driver listed is "Intel® Graphics Driver." I would expect there to be a combo driver for WIN8 as well, for the switchable graphics. I'm not sure how to interpret this: Will Windows install the AMD driver? Should I download it direct from AMD? Should I install the Windows 7 video driver instead?

2. Other drivers are missing completely from the Windows 8 list; for example, no audio drivers appear, which is a concern as I've found that the Dolby drivers are a must have in order to make the internal speakers usable. Also conspicuously absent from the WIN8 list are a number of Intel drivers/apps as well as the Synaptic touch pad driver. I have the same questions here; will WIN8 install these missing drivers? Should I download them direct from their manufacturers? Should I install the WIN7 versions instead?

SOLUTION:

We just released the Graphics Driver & Synaptic Driver you have been waiting for. You can find it here:

We recommend checking back to the VPCSE16FX Drivers Page
