went through my laptop and uninstalled everything that looked like bloat ware
and unfortunately for me, I had never heard of cyber link powerdvd until after
i deleted it. Is there any way I can get this back?

is not lost. Enter VAIO Care to reinstall.
Simply click the [Assist] Button on your keyboard to launch VAIO Care
select Recovery & Restore
Restore
Reinstall Applications and Drivers
Scroll down the list to find your program check mark it and click install at the bottom of the page
