SSD on VAIO laptop

QUESTION:

I just added an SSD to my VPCEA1S1E and it loads Win10 in 12 seconds - fantastic.

But I can't find the drivers to activate the keyboard Function Keys. Can anyone supply these? The model is not supported on the Sony web site for some reason.

I still have the old HD so they are there somewhere but how do I get at them?

SOLUTION:

Make sure to install the SFEP Driver. There shouldn't be any unknown devices (yellow triangles) in the device manager at all.

After that install the following software:

  •          Sony Shared Library

  •          Setting Utility Series - Enables the Vaio key

  •         VAIO Event Service - Enables the Fn keys and their OSD. (newer version under "software")

  •          VAIO Control Center - Allows the configuration of the Vaio key function under Windows. (newer version under "software")

You can find drivers and software at your Vaio’s Support site

The essential drivers and software for Windows 7 should also work with Windows 10
